Nematodes application

Nematode Application 50 mil. or more:

Nematodes packaged in an inert gel carrying material that dissolves in water. Applied 1 teaspoon of the beneficial nematodes per gallon of water. Application in using a watering can, backpack sprayers, pump sprayers, irrigation systems, hose-end sprayer, or motorized sprayer. After mixing the nematodes with water, use the spray solution immediately. Evenly spray the solution over the ground areas to be treated. Continuous mixing should take place in order to prevent the nematodes from sinking to the bottom of the container. Keep the soil slightly moist during the first 7 days after application to help establish the nematodes in the soil. Sprinkle the turf or soil again with water after the application of the nematodes. Apply nematodes as soon as possible for best product performance. You may keep the package of 50 mil.nematodes in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks upon receiving the product.

How the Beneficial Nematodes works. After application, the nematodes actively search for their prey and penetrate them. The nematodes feed on the contents of the prey, excreting specific bacteria from their digestive tracts as they do so. These bacteria convert host tissue into products that the nematodes can easily ingest. The larvae die within a few days.

Application 10 mil. nematodes • Tank Sprayer, Hose End sprayer or Watering Can: Empty the contents of the package into a 2-5-gallon container of water and stir. Once the product is in solution pour into the sprayer and apply immediately. • Hose-end sprayer: Mix the contents of the package into 1 gallon of water. The resulting liquid can be used as a concentrate to fill the tank of most hose-end sprayers. Follow sprayer directions and adjust to the setting that uses the most water. • If your spraying device contains any screens, remove them prior to application. • Always apply when the soil temperature is above 40°F • Moisten the soil in the area to be treated prior to the application of the nematodes. • Always agitate the sprayer or watering can gently during application to ensure a uniform distribution. • After the application, water the lawn with a hose or sprinkler to help the nematodes penetrate the soil. • Keep the soil moist for 4 to 7 days after application to ensure best performance. • Avoid using pesticides on the treated area 7 days before and 7 days after nematode application. • Avoid spraying in windy conditions. You may keep the 10 mil. nematodes in refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.
